About Diane Ziemski

Diane Ziemski Diane Williams Ziemski lives in Hernando Beach, FL with her husband Larry and their 2 Westie, LitaBit and QTÏ€.

They relocated from Little Rock, AR in 2018. She was raised in Helena, AR and graduated from UCA with a degree in Home Economics. She taught school in Dumas, AR for 25 years. She was Technology Coordinator for the Adult Education Section of the Arkansas Department of Workforce Education, until her retirement in 2002. It was then that she began fine art painting, primarily with watercolors, and is self-taught.

Her sons and their wives Dr. Bryan Yarnell and Dr. Christie Burnett-Yarnell, and Dr. David Yarnell, and Dr Katherine Yarnell, are all medical doctors. She paints only in watercolors, and especially enjoys portraits, florals, and wildlife.

Her painting "Yellow Rose after Texas" which has been juried into several exhibits was chosen to be one of the featured paintings in "SPLASH 11, the best of watercolor, New Directions", an internationaly publshed book. She is one of only 3 Arkansans to have been included in the series.

Watercolor USA, in Springfield, MO, accepted her painting "Primary Jiggles" in their 50th anniversary exhibition. June 11 - August 7th, 2011...... This is a nationally juried exhibition.

She is a signature member of Mid-Southern Watercolorists. She was juried into the 2008 Texas and Neighbors Exhibit, and the 2008 Small Works North America in Connecticut. She had a solo exhibit at the Delta Cultural Center, a part of the Arkansas Heritage Department. Her painting "Helena Blues" was chosen as the 2007 Helena Blues & Heritage Festival, previously called the King Biscuit Blues Festival, and was also chosen to be included in the 2008 Arkansas Governors Mansion Calendar.

Diane was chosen to be one of the featured artists in the 2008 W. Rockefellar Artists in the Air, she also had a painting chosen to be in the permenent collection of the W. P Rockefellar Cancer Research Institute at the University of Arkansas Medical Center. She has had exhibits at Searcy Art Council Gallery, St. Vincents Womens Center in the St.Vincent Doctors Hospital in Little Rock, and at Chameleon Art Glass Gallery on Kavanaugh. Her work has been shown in Oval Gallery, Helena National Bank Watercolor Show, Pulaski Heights Picassos, The Arkansas Repertory Theater, The Reps Artworks, Cantrell Gallery MSW Summer Exhibit, MSW Winter Exhibit at North Central Arkansas Art Gallery in Fairfield Bay and Garvan Gardens in Hot Springs, ALA Annual Exhibit at Layman Library, North Little Rock Mayor’s Show, Galaxy Gallery, Andina Café in the River Market, and Artists in the Forest.

Diane has served as Treasurer, workshop chair, and Webmaster of Mid-Southern Watercolorists (MSW) and was a board member and Newsletter Editor of the Arkansas League of Artists (ALA).

She is listed in the Arkansas Artist Registry of the Arkansas Arts Council and had a watercolor painting in the 2005, 2006, and 2009 Arkansas Small Works on Paper.

She was interviewed for an article in the October 2005 issue of AY magazine and the summer 2016 edition of ‘’delta CROSSROADS’’

She is a member of Florida Watercolor Society.

Her originals are in collections in Baltimore, New York City, Washington, D.C., New Orleans, Texas, Pennsylvania, Alaska and Arkansas.
